The Story of EPD International
The journey of EPD International began in 2018 with a good but also bold idea from our founder, who envisioned a revolution in the B2C and B2B markets regarding oral nicotine products. Products that, as extensive Scandinavian research shows, are 95 to 99% less harmful to the human body than cigarettes. Our founder asked a close friend to join. The company started as a startup with one, and later two, warehouses in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In those early years, we handled every aspect of the business ourselves – from product sourcing and logistics to our own customer service. Despite the modest setup, our unwavering dedication and entrepreneurial spirit laid the foundation for something much bigger.
As our company's reputation grew and more customers began to take notice, it became clear that the demand for our products and services was increasing and the upward trajectory had begun. This led to the hiring of a third person to help manage the increasing workload. Together, this ambitious team worked tirelessly on the professionalization and expansion of our offering, and we quickly gained momentum in the competitive B2C and B2B sectors.
By the end of 2021, the company had outgrown its origins and made the strategic decision to relocate its headquarters to Teplice in the Czech Republic, following the implementation of the total ban on nicotine pouches in the Netherlands. This step marked a turning point, giving EPD International better access to the broader European market and allowing it to streamline operations. The transition enabled the company to scale up, paving the way for rapid growth and establishing itself as a major player on the global stage.
As the team continued to grow, a fourth partner was brought in to focus on our further development and thus further strengthen the company's supply chain capabilities. EPD International soon grew into a fully-fledged family business, with dozens of employees managing a highly functional depot and office space in the Czech Republic. This extensive workforce, equipped with specialized knowledge in sales, logistics, and customer service, enabled the company to meet the increasing demand from customers worldwide.
